| Garbagna (AL), Italy is located in the Foothills of the Liguria Apennines (Grue valley) just at the extremity of the Padana plain. It's strategically placed lying at 50Km. from Genoa, 95Km. from Milan 140 Km. from Turin. Not less important is the fact tat at 10 Km. is Vignole Borbera. |
 |
| The picturesque village of Garbagnana (whose population reaches 500 in summer) arranges several festivals throughout the year, including "the cherry festival in spring, the chestnut festival in autumn" and two of its restaurant in particular are part of the authentic "Slow food" culture. Through the nearby Borbera valley flows the Borbera, a hill torrent which is sought-after by swimmers and sun-bathers from near and far as its water is cool and clear and its banks and gorges are well worth exploring. At Borghetto, downstream, there is a modern water-world park with pools of various size and shapes with slides and water games. |
| |
| In springtime the hills are covered in abundant white cherry blossom while the woods turn golden and russet as the chestnuts ripen and shade a wide variety of weld edible mushrooms. The climate, due to formation of the hills, is slightly breezy, so that it's never sultry, even in high summer. The campsite is on the sunny slope of the hill and enjoys sunshine from early morning to early evening. It goes without saying then this quiet hillside village is remote from all sources of pollution deriving from heavy industry. Its tranquillity is only interrupted by the frames as they go about the cultivation of their tiny, well-tilled fields. |
 |
| The campsite (at only 400 mt from the village) is the starting point for numerous strolls along climbing and winding paths trough and over the hills which also themselves to mountain-bikers and trekkers. |
