Description
Among the regions of Sardinia, Gallura is certainly the least known one, and therefore it has preserved a more genuine approach to the tourist. It covers the North-Western area of the island, out to Santa Teresa di Gallura on one side, and down to Tempio Pausania.
In the middle of this land you find Valledoria, a village in a central and ideal position to allow daily tours around. Here, straight in front of the sea, is located the International Camping Valledoria, surrounded by a rich wood of pine-trees and junipers.
From this point you can reach all the itineraries and discover the most hidden of Gallura: the beaches, often empty and not easy to see; the woods of junipers and cork-trees; the holiday farms, which every day offer different typical dishes of ancient cooking traditions specific of the area; horses and cows around at pasture, so that, today as in the past, simple but genuine food can be prepared; numerous village festivals and patron feasts, which, especially in the summer, keep alive the memory of the best Sardinian traditions.
